Hollow Tree Books is an independent publisher based in beautiful Whitby, North Yorkshire. We currently specialise in local interest titles, but over the coming year we'll be branching out into children's books and comics, so watch this space!
When we founded Hollow Tree Books in 2010, our aim was simple. We wanted to provide a way for new and niche authors to break into the world of publishing. The talent currently being demonstrated is obvious, yet it's never been harder to get published. It's our belief that authors should not be sidelined because they don't have the weight of a bestseller or a blockbuster already behind them. There's always space for talent at Hollow Tree Books.
Of course, that doesn't mean we don't have a place for older titles. There are some books we just couldn't stand to see disappear, and we're very proud of them too - you can read about them on our Books page.

We're thrilled to announce the addition of a new author to our ranks - Steve Midwood, a keen local historian, is now on board with Hollow Tree Books, and we're delighted to welcome him. Watch out for more news on Steve soon!

Hollow Tree Books is delighted to announce that we've added a new name to our stable of authors - Theresa Tomlinson, who has already proved herself as a writer with several successful books for adults and children, is now on board with us. We're thrilled to have her with us. Keep an eye out for more news about Theresa, and for other author announcements, coming soon.
